Desktop Connect App Reviews

It does not work

On local networks it works no problem. But this is simple and therre are plenty of other applications, much cheaper, that do it too. What instead is UNACCEPTABLE is an app that advertises as using the gmail connection... And then it does not work. Not ony this, but the information around are different, and very confusing. In some places it says you need to log in with your computer credentials, in other with your gmail credentials. If you go to their website, they repeat some basic information that obviously work for some but not for others. And they generally ignore everybody else. Think about it, do you want to buy an app that does not do what they advertise, and ignore requests for help.

Crash crash crash, not updated in over 2 years.

This crashes all the time under iOS 8. Needs to be updated or pulled from the store. Still crashes under IOS 9. Please pull this app if it isnt updated and surely do not purchase it.

Good VNC Client

Pretty good implementation of VNC client here, and while the last couple of versions were stable, it has had some issues in the past.

Excellent app does what I need every time.

I use this to access computer on corporate network. I also use it to access my Mac minis works like a charm.

Tried Them All

I am a physician working with electronic medical records from home to office via iPad. Also use dictation. So far this app is the best I have found. RJ

Works for me!

Really handy!

Good work!

Thanks for a great remote window to my Mac.

Quickoffice

I bought this because of the huge number of 5-star reviews, but it lacks some important features. There is no Open In feature, so you cant open a finished document in a printing app such as Airprint or Eurosmartz PrintnShare Pro, so you are limited to printing to an Airshare enabled printer. Big disappointment in a mobile app. You cannot insert an image in a .doc or .docx. Big deficiency. You cannot adjust margins. Big deficiency. Not ready for prime time

Good Remote Desktop software.

I have used this software for a couple of years now. And it is good, I like it, I use it on both Macs and PCs and I found it be greatly useful. And is well worth the $10 that I initially paid for it.

Works well

Very convenient when I need it.

OSX Lion Gesture Support

This is a great app! I use it to troubleshoot my clients PCs all the time. Without even having to get out of bed, Im making money when they call me during their computer emergencies. One major problem Ive run into is the less than stellar compatibility with Lions multitouch gestures. For example, using two fingers to scroll works backwards and the performance is clunky at best. And you cant three-finger swipe from full screen app to app or desktop. Etcetera. Id also like to request a function. Id like to be able to copy and paste between the remote machine and my iPad. I thought I read it was capable of this before I downloaded and started using it, but Ive never figured out how if it IS possible. Overall, this is a great app, and I use it daily, so dont let the complaints fool you. Its a great app with some room for improvement.

Great!

Great app! Works well! I sometimes have connection issues but it usually gets fixed within minutes!

disappointing

Before leaving on my trip, I spent hours trying to get this app to work. Even my very technically minded husband struggled with configuration. We thought we had FINALLY gotten things to work with b/t my computer and my iPad. So, I left my computer at home and am now unable to connect to it. This was an expensive app, and now I am having to spend money on another one, and asking my husband to set it up on my laptop at home. Its surprising to see high ratings for this app. Perhaps I am in the minority, but wow, this is a bad result for a $15 app.

Very good

I love this app. It could be more intuitive. In the past I used an app that required a lot of setup. The good thing is that almost all cases the app found the Remote Desktop and made the connection itself. The only issue is it is short on functionality.

Great Remote Connection App

Desktop Connect is a good, full featured VNC and RDP app. Even better, you can install a desktop app called Easy Connect that takes out the hassle of activating RDP and remembering your IP address. Several different control schemes to use, which is nice. Worth the money if you need to work on a desktop away from home.

Great App !

This App is fantastic. I use it to connect to my Mac Mini Computer where I’ve got my extensive Music library stored. The Mac Mini is now a music server that I can control with my iPad using the “Desktop Connect app”.

Reliable

Very happy with this app, easy to use and does what its supposed to do, simple as that. My one complaint is that it shows everything you type, including passwords...not good.

Doesnt work in iOS 7

Within a few seconds of opening the app it opens the App Store and takes you to the page for the Google Hangouts app. App is useless if this continues. Was working in previous versions of iOS.

No longer functions via Gmail after iOS7 upgrade

A new update for this app is essential if its to every be useful again. Until now it worked as advertised, no longer.

Malware

Was/is a five star app when it works. Since iOS7 trying to use it usually opens the App Store app which is locked on the window for an app called Hangout. Do we have an iPad virus, or is there malware at work?
